Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The UW-Superior men's hockey team has been picked to finish fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) preseason poll of league coaches and sports information directors, which was released on Wednesday.
This will mark the first season that teams will compete solely under the WIAC banner, with all five having previously competed in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
The Yellowjackets posted an overall record of (11-14-2) in 2012-13 and return 14 letterwinners from that squad. Superior, Wis. Pat Dalbec leads that returning group as he enters his senior season 32 points shy of the 100 mark for his career.
UW-Superior also returns Jeff Forsythe, who could become the program's second-ever four-time all-WICA first team selection, and add Dayn Belfour, who is a Division I transfer from Nebraska-Omaha.
Below are full results of the 2013-14 WIAC preseason poll, with a team's respective first-place votes listed in parentheses.
