Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica junior Paul Schommer and senior Sarah Allen have each been named the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) skier of the week, it was announced on Wednesday night.

Schommer is the men's skier of the week after he won his first CCSA event over this past weekend, finishing the Mount Itasca 10-kilometer freestyle race more than 24 seconds ahead of his nearest competition, and also placed third in the next day's 10-kilometer classic race.

Allen, a Duluth, Minn. native, is the women's skier of the week after she became the program's first skier to win an NCAA qualifying event this past weekend. That 5-kilometer classic victory also helped the Saints to the first-ever team victory at Mount Itasca, and she followed it up with a seventh-place finish in the next day's 5-kilometer skate race.
