Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica football team reported to campus on Saturday afternoon ahead of the start of preseason practices, that with the program entering its fifth-ever season.

Head coach Greg Carlson greeted his returning players, the newcomers, and some parents to the St. Scholastica campus on Saturday. The team will start its preseason practice schedule on Sunday afternoon, preceded by some individual fitness testing.

The Saints posted a (10-0) regular season record a year ago and qualified for the program's first-ever NCAA Division III tournament, where St. Thomas ended the team's year with a 48-2 defeat.

St. Scholastica will open its 2012 regular season on September 1 when the team faces Whitworth at Public Schools Stadium in Duluth.
