Whitewater, Wis. (NNCNOW.com) --- #4-seeded UW-Stevens Point score three runs in both the seventh and eighth inning on Friday night en route to an 8-2 win over #6-seeded St. Scholastica, eliminating the Saints from the NCAA Division III Midwest regional tournament.

Jordan Risse was charged with the loss on the hill for the Saints, allowing three earned runs on five hits across 6.1 innings of work.

Jake Nystrom came on in relief but failed to record an out, allowing an earned run on two hits in the seventh inning. He was replaced by Duluth, Minn. native Zach Farmer, who was charged with two earned runs across one full inning of work.

Jake Snyder came to close out the eighth inning, with no one needed to pitch the ninth as the Pointers were the home team.

Kyle Flagstad and Andy Schwantes were the only Saints players with multiple hits, each finishing the game 2-for-4 with a run batted in.

St. Scholastica went (2-2) at this year's regional tournament and ends the 2013 season with an overall record of (29-11).
