Midway, UT (NNCNNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica junior cross country skier Paul Schommer placed 25th overall on Wednesday morning at the U.S. National Championships, marking the program's best-ever finish at that particular meet.

Schommer trailed the lead pack for much of the race, finishing just about three minutes off the lead in the end with a time of 1:22:48. That was good enough to make him the 13th-best collegiate skier in the field and second-best from the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA).

St. Scholastica sophomore Joe Dubay came in 51st overall in the event, and senior John Wessling finished 65th overall for the Saints.
