CSS' French Named First Team All-Region

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica senior defensive end Alec French became the first ever Saints football player to be named First Team All-West Region by D3football.com, it was announced on Monday night.

The Isanti, Minn. native was also named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Defensive Player of the Year. French led the conference's top defense with a program record 114 tackles. He also made the First Team All-UMAC for the second straight year.

French's 10.4 tackles per game ranked as fourth-best in the league and landed him in the top 50 in the country. He also had two fumble recoveries which was tops in the conference and three interceptions.
