Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Hibbing native and St. Scholastica sophomore Hillary Bungarden has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) women's tennis player of the year, it was announced on Thursday.

Bungarden amassed a singles record of (8-1) in conference play this season and finished (16-8) overall for the Saints. Playing doubles, the former Bluejacket went (9-1) in the UMAC and (16-9) overall.

She helped the Saints to a 16th consecutive regular season conference championship.

Bungarden was also given all-conference honors for her efforts this season, an honor she shares with four of her teammates.

Also being named to the all-conference team were Virginia native Alexis Gunderson, Megan Lawrence, Rachael Zwiener, and Cortne Solberg.

St. Scholastica junior Jill Kammerer was also named Thursday as the recipient of the UMAC sportsmanship award.
