Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Northlanders Nikki Logegren and Kelly Ahlgren will join the St. Scholastica women's hockey program as freshmen in the 2012-13 season, it was announced on Tuesday.
Logergren comes to the Saints from Duluth Denfeld, having tallied 22 goals and nine assists during her senior campaign with the Hunters this past winter. She will also play softball this upcoming spring for the Saints.
Ahlgren, meanwhile, is a defenseman from Hayward, where she earned all-state second team honors this past year as a senior. In three games against Minnesota teams last season, she totaled four goals and two assists for the Hurricanes.
Four other incoming freshman players were announced on Tuesday, those being Roseau's Ashley Kompelien, Baraboo's Brittney Berger, Tokyo's Itsuki Baba, and Division I transfer Samantha Moore.
The Saints finished with a (13-9-5) overall record in the 2011-12 season, falling in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) quarterfinals.
