Saints Claim Third Straight UMAC All-Sport Award

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- St. Scholastica was announced Wednesday as the winner of the 2011-12 Jerry Kruse all-sport trophy, handed out each year to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC0 school with the best finish across all men's and women's sports.

The Saints have now won the award three consecutive years and eight overall, marking the highest total since the award's creating in the 1996-97 athletic season.

St. Scholastica won or shared UMAC championships in 14 sports during the 2011-12 season, including winning all six spring sport titles.

The only sports in which the Saints did not win or share the UMAC title were men's and women's basketball.
