Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- While he's spent the past eight years building the St. Scholastica nordic ski team from the ground up, head coach Chad Salmela, but every four years he finds himself on a bigger state in the Olympic Games.
Salmela will make his third trip to the Olympics as a color commentator for NBC in the biathlon, cross-country, and nordic combined.
After spending eight years as a member of the U.S Biathlon Team, Samela failed to make the Olympic Team, but said this opportunity allows him to be a part of the magic that he grew up watching .
"I've always loved the Olympics. I can remember loving the Olympics all the way back to childhood, as young as I can remember. My Dad was a fan of the games and watched a lot of the Olympics growing up."
"I always dreamed of being an Olympic athlete, and unfortunately I wasn't, but it's definitely nice to be involved with the Olympics at least once every four years. I don't know if I'll get to it the next Olympics so I just take every games like it's a gift."
