Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- St. Scholastica senior Jacob Engelstad has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) men's tennis player of the year, it was announced on Thursday.

Engelstad just completed arguably the greatest career in Saints men's tennis history, amassing 61 singles wins and 54 doubles victories.

Those 115 combined wins set a new program record, beating the previous mark by 11. This season, Engelstad went (9-1) in UMAC play and (15-10) overall.

The Thief River Falls native was also named to the all-conference team for the fourth consecutive season, sharing that honor with four of his teammates.

Hermantown native Brian Lindberg and Kevin Hilpert were also named all-conference players this season, and both are also four-time selections. Kolin Dean and James Mack round out the all-conference honors for St. Scholastica.

Saints head coach Wells Patten was also honored Thursday, being named the UMAC coach of the year for the fourth consecutive year.
