St. Peter, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica men's soccer team clung to a one-goal lead before Gustavus Adolphus scored the equalizer in the 84th minute and went on to win 2-1 in overtime on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA DIII Tournament.
In the second half, Andrew Jenkins drew a foul in the box which set up Joe Watt who hammered home the penalty kick. For Watt, it was his 159th point of his career, a new CSS record.
With six minutes to play, the Gusties capitalized on a corner kick to knot things up at 1-1. Gustavus wasted no time in the first OT and finished off the Saints thanks to a goal from Patrick Roth.
St. Scholastica finishes the season (17-3-3).
