Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- WIth just seven days until their season opener, the St. Scholastica football team wrapped up its preseason camp on Saturday with a scrimmage at Saints Field on a hot and humid afternoon.
The Saints return 13 starters from a team that made its second straight NCAA tournament appearance and a piece of the UMAC crown.
Head coach Greg Carlson says that he's pleased with the progress his guys have made over the past couple of weeks.
"To their credit, they've done a good job. We have good upper class men leadership. The captains are doing a nice job, keeping the pace up, the tempo up," Carlson said.
"All in all I'm pleased with camp. If we came out of today, minimized the injuries, we'll be in good shape going into the first game."
The Saints travel to Spokane, Wash. to take on Whitworth next Saturday, Sept. 7 at 3:30 p.m.
