Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Three St. Scholastica athletes left Tuesday morning bound for the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships, where the Saints have varying levels of experience.

Senior Becky Huberty will be participating in her fifth straight national meet --- counting both indoor and outdoor competition --- and she has lofty goals in her final kick at the can.

"I've worked really hard these past four years," Huberty said. "It feels really good to qualify again for both my events. I'm definitely hoping to walk away with All-Americans in both and hopefully a national championship in the hammer throw."

Sophomores Kevin Wagner and Jeremy Peterson will be joining Huberty at the NCAA meet, with this being Wagner's second national meet and Peterson's first.

"I just feel pretty fortunate about making it being that [hammer throw] is an event that I couldn't do in high school," Peterson said. "I'm pretty fortunate to have picked up the form pretty fast, so I'm just thankful to be going."

"It's always fun to go to nationals," Wagner said, "because you always know you've accomplished something and done really well. It's always fun to go."

Huberty will compete in both the hammer throw and shot put, Peterson will compete in the hammer throw, and Wagner will compete in the decathlon for the Saints at the NCAA meet, which is set to start on Thursday in Delaware, Ohio.
