Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica men's soccer team learned Monday that it will face Gustavus Adolphus in the first round of this year's NCAA Division III tournament, marking the Saints' second straight appearance in that national field.
St. Scholastica won its way into the tournament this past weekend with a 4-1 victory over Minnesota-Morris in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championship game, coming back from a 1-0 halftime deficit in that contest.
The Saints and Gusties met once before this 2013 season, with St. Scholastica winning that game 1-0 on its home field with a second half penalty kick marking the difference.
St. Scholastica enters the tournament with an overall record of (17-2-3), while Gustavus Adolphus comes in with a mark of (13-3-1).
The first-round game will be played Nov. 14 at the Gusties' home field in St. Peter, Minn., with a game time yet to be determined by the NCAA.
