Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica men's hockey team was officially introduced on Tuesday to the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA), with head coach Mark Wick on hand to call the change a positive move for his program.
St. Scholastica and St. Norbert, both currently members of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), will begin play in the MCHA come the 2013-14 season.
The move was sparked by the decision of five UW-associated schools, including UW-Superior, to depart the NCHA in favor of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
St. Scholastica boasts an all-time record of (56-67-4) against teams now in the MCHA, including the Green Knights of St. Norbert.
The Saints have played in the NCHA since the 1983-84 season, and will play the 2012-13 season in that league before making the switch.
