Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- St. Scholastica freshman pitcher Chrisi Mizera has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) rookie of the year, it was announced on Monday morning.

Mizera led the conference with a 1.20 earned run average against UMAC opponents and 11.36 strikeouts per game, and she also won her last 10 decisions while not allowing more than three runs in any single game during that span.

This marks the second straight year a Saints pitcher has been named UMAC rookie of the year, with Rendi Johnson having earned the honor in 2013.
