Saints Sweep UMAC Track and Field Honors

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica men's and women's track teams swept the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) weekly honors on Tuesday after strong performances by Jeremy Peterson and the women's 4x400m relay team.

Peterson, a Hermantown, Minn. native, won the UMAC Men's Athlete of the Week award for the third time in the past month. At Saturday's Saint Mary's Open, Peterson set a program record in the discus toss with a mark of 154'2". He also finished as runner-up in the hammer throw.

On the women's side, the 4x400m relay team made up of Duluth, Minn. native Laurel Ohaju, Maggie Kurtovich, Andrea Mogren, and Brianna Buske took home the UMAC honor. The foursome set a new program record at the Drake Relays with a time of 3:55.18.
