Saints Tabbed to Win 5th Straight UMAC Title

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica (CSS) men's soccer team has been picked to finish first in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) preseason coaches' poll, which was released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Saints were the unanimous favorites are receiving seven first-place votes with the University of Minnesota Morris second with one first-place vote and the University of Northwestern third.

CSS has won four straight UMAC regular season titles and qualified for the past two NCAA Tournaments. They also enter this season on a 61-game regular season UMAC unbeaten steak.

"Guys are always striving to get there, make the final four and then cause the upset normally against us," said Saints head coach Barry Chastey. That's a challenge, and playing three times, that's tough. It's tough to beat any team three times."

St. Scholastica opens up the season on Friday, Aug. 29 at Trinity (Texas) at 4:00 p.m.
