Saints Take UMAC Title, On to NCAA Tourney

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica baseball team beat Northwestern 9-5 on Friday afternoon to take the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) postseason title, advancing to the Division III NCAA regional tournament.

Duluth East graduate Parker Olson led the Saints offensively, going 3-for-5 with three runs batted in and a run scored.

St. Scholastica also got two runs batted in from Kyle Moody and one apiece from Kyle Flagstad, John Hieptas, and Andy Schwantes.

Kyle Jensen pitched six innings to pick up the win, allowing four runs and striking out six Northwestern batters.

Duluth East graduate Zack Farmer pitched the ninth for the Saints, allowing a single run while also notching a strikeout.

The Saints are now (33-9) this season and advance to the program's eighth consecutive NCAA regional tournament.
