Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The St. Scholastica women's tennis team had claimed at least a share of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season title on Monday, and on Tuesday the team found out it will indeed share the championship with Northwestern.
The Eagles beat Minnesota-Morris 9-0 on Tuesday to earn that school's first-ever share of the UMAC title, while it will be the Saints' 18th consecutive year claiming at least a share of the title.
The two teams will now be the top two seeds in this weekend's UMAC tournament, with the No. 1 and No. 2 team selected based on a coin flip.
No matter the outcome of that coin flip, though, the (16-6) Saints will open the UMAC tournament with a match at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
