Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The St. Scholastica volleyball team is busy preparing for its longest road trip of the season, that an eight-day trip to Oneonta, N.Y. for a 12-team tournament.

"We talked about that, that we're so tight right now," head coach Dana Moore said. "We're eating all of our meals together, doing a lot of team bonding together, and then we're going on a bus for eight days together. We've already got a sign that says 'No Whining' right at the steps of the bus."

For the St. Scholastica senior co-captains, this trip has been a focus of a lot of excitement during their collegiate careers.

"We're so excited," Duluth native and senior co-captain Taylor Tyllia said. "We've been waiting for that, and I can't believe it's finally here. It'll be a good trip."

The tournament is the start of the 2012 season for St. Scholastica, which was picked to finish second in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) preseason coaches' poll.

"So far things have been looking really good for people coming back and having a good time," senior co-captain Anna Zyvoloski said. "We're playing a lot of hard and fun volleyball."

The Saints finished the 2011 season with an overall record of (27-7), qualifying for that program's first-ever NCAA Division III tournament.

St. Scholastica will depart for New York on Wednesday, with the team's first game set for August 31 against Houghton.
