Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Duluth East boy's hockey team advanced Saturday to the Section 7AA championship with a 4-2 win over Elk River-Zimmerman at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.
The #1-ranked Greyhounds struck just 26 seconds into the game with a goal from Trevor Olson, giving them a lead they would never give back.
Meirs Moore scored two goals in the game for Duluth East, including an empty net tally in the final minute, and Ryan Lundgren scored the eventual game winner for the Greyhounds.
Duluth East now advances to the Section 7AA championship, which will be played Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth.
