#3 Hawks Top #15 Blue Devils, Mirage Skate Past Superior

(Northland's NewsCenter) --- The #3-ranked Hermantown boy's hockey team rolled over #15-ranked Virginia-Mountain Iron-Buhl on Tuesday night, winning 8-1 at home in Hermantown.

Andrew Mattson paced the Hawks with three goals in the winning effort while Chris Benson scored twice, and Jared Thomas tallied three assists for Hermantown.

Lucas Murray made 35 saves in the loss for the visiting Blue Devils.

MIRAGE USE STRONG THIRD PERIOD TO TOP SPARTANS

The Proctor-Hermantown Mirage scored three third period goals on Tuesday night to beat Superior 3-1 in girl's hockey.

The Spartans took a lead in the first period and held that lead until the third, but the Mirage had a strong final frame to win the Lake Superior Conference contest.
