Virginia-MIB falls to Little Falls

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) _ Ben Hanowski scored 5 goals to lead
first-seeded Little Falls to a 6-2 victory over Virginia/Mountain
Iron-Buhl on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A boys
state hockey tournament.
Hanowski is the state's all-time leading scorer. Riley Hirsch
scored the other goal for the Flyers (29-0), who are playing in
their fifth straight state tournament but have never won the
championship.
Little Falls will play the winner of the Breck/Rochester Lourdes
quarterfinal game in the semifinals on Friday.
Garrett Hendrickson and Chris Westin scored the two goals for
Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl, both in the third period. The
Blue Devils previously lost to Little Falls 1-0 earlier in the
season.
The Blue Devils also lost to Rochester Lourdes 5-1 in the consolation round on Thursday. Vriginia-MIB finishes the year at (23-7).
