Hermantown, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Hermantown Hawks are ranked #5 in Minnesota Class A boy's soccer this week, now sporting a (6-0) record in 2011.

The Hawks defeated the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks 3-0 at home on Tuesday, battling a tough defense and some bad weather all game.

Isak Abukhodair scored two goals in the win for the Hawks, who are now averaging 5.5 goals per game this season.

"We wanted the shutout tonight," Hawks head coach Dave Thompson said, "and we haven't done that but one other time this season, so that was our goal and we did it. We played good defense in the first half, then got some good goalkeeping in the second half. It always helps when your offense is moving the ball and taking a little pressure off the defense."

"We played well as a team in the beginning," Abukhodair said. "We were passing it well, but the second part of the first half was rough. We got it together in the second half and pulled it through."
