Virginia-MIB wins first tourney game

After 5 losses in 3 trips to the MN State Boys Hockey Tournament, the Virginia-MIB Blue Devils picked up their historic first victory at the tournament on Thursday morning.

The Blue Devils nipped Alexandria 4-3 in the Class A consolation round match up held at Mariucci Arena. With the game tied at 3-all, Troy Nichols scored the game-winner for Virginia-MIB. It was the second goal of the game for Nichols.

With the victory, the Blue Devils improve to (19-8-3) and will face the winner of the New Ulm vs. Rochester Lourdes game for the Consolation Championship. That game will take place Saturday morning at 10am at Mariucci Arena.
