In the last Class AAA quarterfinal contest of the day at Williams Arena, the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks upended the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights by a 70-61 margin behind a sterling performance from senior guard Eric Stark, who went six of nine from the field and nine of 11 from the free throw line to net 21 points. The Thunderhawks led for much of the 1st half and took a two-point lead to the locker room at halftime. The game remained close early in the 2nd half but Grand Rapids eventually built up their lead and salted the game away by hitting free throws. Senior Michael Johnson had 18 points and sophomore Austin Pohlen added 12 of his own to spark the Thunderhawks. The Red Knights were led in scoring by sophomore guard Isaiah Zierden, who had 14 points, and junior forward Myles Barnes, who poured in 11 on four of four shooting.
