Green Bay, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior girls' basketball team has been to the WIAA Division 1 tournament twice before in program history, but the Spartans are still looking for a first-ever win at that state tournament level.

Talking to this year's players, that's something they would like to be remembered for.

"It's always exciting," senior Hailey Kontny said. "It's an exciting experience to be on that stage and perform for people. We're really shooting for that gold ball and going to that championship game for sure."

"We already know what to expect," senior Jessica Lindstrom said. "We know everything that happens in Green Bay and what it's like to play on that stage-type floor. We're all ready for that."

Superior will play Mukwonago in this year's WIAA Division 1 semifinals, with that game scheduled for 8:15 p.m. on Friday at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis.
