Blue Devils Fall Twice at State Tennis Meet

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Virginia boys' tennis team was making its fifth appearance in the past six years at the MSHSL Class A tournament on Tuesday afternoon, but the Blue Devils ended up losing twice and are eliminated from contention.

Virginia first fell 7-0 to Rochester Lourdes in the quarterfinal round and then dropped a consolation semifinal match 5-2 to Foley. Rickey Sipila, and Jake Seitz each won a singles match for the Blue Devils in the second loss of the day.

The singles and doubles portion of the MSHSL Class A tournament will begin on Thursday, in which five Northland players will be taking part.
