Boys' Hockey Practice Starts in Minnesota

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Monday was the first official day of practices for high school boys' hockey teams in Minnesota, with all of them hoping to be playing in the MSHSL tournament come March at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.

Duluth East and Duluth Denfeld each opened the official season with practices at the Heritage Sports Center in Duluth, Minn. on Monday afternoon.

The Greyhounds were (29-2) a year ago and qualified for the MSHSL Class AA tournament, where they were beaten in the quarterfinal round by Lakeville North.

The Hunters, meanwhile, posted a record of (11-14-2) last season and lost to eventual Section 7A champion Duluth Marshall in the postseason.
