Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Anders Broman surpassed the career 4,000-point plateau on Saturday afternoon, but he and the #4-ranked Lakeview Christian Academy boys' basketball team lost a close 106-103 game to #2-ranked Heritage Christian Academy.

Broman entered the game needing eight points to hit the milestone, reaching it midway through the first half with a jumper from the baseline. He finished with 53 points in the loss, putting him at 4,045 for his high school career.

That total also puts him just 41 points shy of the all-time Minnesota state scoring record, which stands right now at 4,086.

Anders' younger brother, Bjorn, finished Saturday's game with 24 points, and Jonathan Hardesty had 18 for the Lions in the loss.
