Proctor, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Lakeview Christian Academy junior guard Anders Broman scored 56 points as the Lions beat Proctor 97-68 on Thursday night in their season opener.

Broman entered his junior season with 2,523 points, having already played four years on the varsity team. The Minnesota Class A record currently stands at 4,086 points.

Last season, Broman became the youngest player in state history to reach 2,000 career points, doing so on the road against Greenway.

Jessica Lindstrom scored a game-high 24 points and Hailey Kontny added 20 as Superior beat Duluth Denfeld 80-50 in girl's basketball on Thursday night.

Leah Hamm led the Hunters with 12 points, but it was not enough on their home floor to escape the Spartans.
