St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Carlton volleyball team couldn't muster enough attack to keep up with #2-seeded Minneota on Thursday in the MSHSL Class A quarterfinals, falling 25-21, 25-8, 25-18 to move the Bulldogs out of the championship bracket.

Macy Belcih led the Bulldogs with nine kills in the match, with Grace Macor adding six and Amanda Groth five in the losing effort.

The Vikings, meanwhile, were paced by 16 kills from Taylor Reiss and 10 from Molly Hennen, taking control of the match from the outset and never relinquishing the lead.

Carlton is now (26-6) overall this season and will now take on Martin County West in the consolation bracket, with that match set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the Xcel Energy Center.
