Chisago Lakes, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Duluth Central softball team lost twice in the Section 7AAA playoffs Wednesday afternoon, ending the program's final season as the Trojans.
Central entered the section tournament as the #1 seed, but was upset first by #3 seed Forest Lake, then again by #7 seed Anoka.
The two losses eliminated the Trojans from the playoffs and contention for a state tournament berth in the program's final season, which comes due to school restructuring in Duluth.
Central ends the season with a record of (18-4). The underclass players on this year's squad will play next season under the name of Duluth Denfeld.
