Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Cloquet football team is bound for the MSHSL Class AAAA tournament for the first time since 1987 after beating Hermantown 23-14 on Friday night in the Section 7AAAA championship game.

The Lumberjacks used 19 points in the second quarter to take control of the game, including a 70-yard touchdown run by Kyle Klatt that came following an interception by Brady Obeidzinski.

Hermantown battled back in the second half after trailing 23-6 at the break, but the Hawks couldn't break down the Cloquet defense enough to get any closer.

Cloquet will now play in the MSHSL Class AAAA quarterfinals, with that game against the winner of Section 5 scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 8 at St. John's University in St. Joseph, Minn.
