Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Maddie Damon threw a complete game and struck out 11 hitters on Thursday afternoon as the Kasson-Mantorville softball team beat Hermantown 4-1 in the MSHSL Class AA quarterfinals at Caswell Park in Mankato, Minn.

The game was a rematch of last year's state semifinals, which also resulted in a win for the KoMets.

Kylie Hoff threw the entire game for the Hawks, allowing the four runs on eight hits while striking out two hitters. Offensively, Hermantown had three different players with a hit in the losing effort.

The Hawks will now move to the consolation bracket, with the team's next game set for 7:00 p.m. against Staples-Motley at Caswell Park.
