Minneapolis, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Duluth Marshall boy's tennis team was ousted in the first round of the MSHSL Class A state tournament on Tuesday, losing 7-0 to Breck.

The Mustangs are the defending Class A state champions, and the Hilltoppers were making the program's first state appearance since 2008.

Duluth Marshall then also dropped a match in the consolation bracket on Tuesday, falling 4-3 to Thief River Falls.

Joey Kronzer won the lone singles match for the Hilltoppers, while two doubles teams also notched victories. Evan Goldschmidt and Nick Sengbush won first doubles, and Joe Lipovetz and Max Bartell combined to win third doubles for Duluth Marshall.
