St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Jack Kolar scored a second period goal and Dylan Parker made 12 saves as the Duluth East boys' hockey team earned a 1-0 win over Moorhead in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Class AA semifinals at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
The Greyhounds threw 30 shots Spuds sophomore goaltender Jacob Dittmer, but he made 29 saves, some of them spectacular, to keep the score close throughout the contest.
Kolar's goal came 1:13 into the second period after a Duluth East line change, beating Dittmer low to the stick side for the eventual game-winning tally.
Duluth East used a strong defensive presence all game long, eventually staving off a 6-on-5 with Dittmer pulled for Moorhead in the closing minute.
The win is a 17th straight for the #2-seeded Greyhounds, who now will play #3-seeded Edina in the Class AA semifinals. That game is set for 6:00 p.m. on March 8 at the Xcel Energy Center.
