Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Duluth East boy's hockey team is no longer the top-ranked team in Minnesota's Class AA, that following a 9-3 loss to Minnetonka on Hockey Day Minnesota.
The loss dropped the Greyhounds to (17-1) on the season and moved them to the #2 spot in the state's rankings, with the Skippers taking over the #1 ranking.
Duluth East boasts two of the top scorers in the state in seniors Jake Randolph and Dom Toninato, both of whom made Division I verbal commitments this past week.
The Greyhounds won their game following the Minnetonka loss, making them (18-1) overall this season.
HAWKS STAY TOP-RANKED TEAM IN CLASS A
The Hermantown boy's hockey team stayed the #1-ranked team in Minnesota's Class A this week and are still the state's only unbeaten team.
The Hawks beat the visiting Proctor Rails 7-1 on Tuesday night to move to (19-0) this season, tops in either Class A or AA.
Hermantown also lays claim to one of the top scorers in Minnesota in senior Jared Thomas, who late last week issued his verball college commitment to UMD.
