Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Duluth Marshall has named James Hogan as its new head football coach, replacing the retiring Dave Homstad in that position.

Hogan was an assistant coach at Superior for four years before joining the Hilltoppers, also serving as the team's head junior varsity coach.

He has other high school coaching experience with Northwestern and spent two seasons as the defensive line coach for UW-Oshkosh.

Hogan graduated from UW-Superior and is currently a high school social studies teacher in Superior. His hiring ended a more than three-month national search in which 30 candidates were considered.

Homstad, who will retire at the end of this school year, also served as the athletic director at Duluth Marshall.
