FL Walks Off, Beats Rapids in 7AAA Final

Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Jonathan Schmidt hit a game-winning, walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning on Thursday afternoon to give Forest Lake a 4-3 win over Grand Rapids in the Section 7AAA championship game.

Alexander Egle scored the winning run from second base for the Rangers, that with Thunderhawks' senior Jake Bischoff on the mound in relief of starting pitcher Hunter Shepard.

Grand Rapids was trying for a second consecutive trip to the MSHSL Class AAA tournament, but instead the Thunderhawks' season ends with an overall record of (17-6).
