Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Duluth native and former Duluth Marshall golfer Lisa Moline took ninth overall in this week's Northland Ladies Invitational, and she's excited for the rest of the summer playing local tournaments.

Moline hadn't had much time the past couple summers to play amateur tournaments because of commitments to her college team, Minnesota State-Mankato.

Now, though, she is done with collegiate competition and poised to take on the Northland circuit, starting with the Nemadji Women's Invitational on July 25 and the Arrowhead Ladies Invitational in August.

"This is all I'm going to be playing," Moline said of the local tournaments. "I hadn't been able to play in the Northland Ladies Invitational the past two years because of scheduling conflicts, but now I'm excited to do the local track every summer."

The former Hilltopper shot a two-day total of 160 to finish ninth overall and first in the first flight at the 2012 Northland Ladies Invitational, calling the course afterwards one of the toughest she's played.

"No matter how many times you play here, you can never know it exactly," Moline said. "The greens are so hard, and they break so much. I always struggle with putting out here, but it was nice. It was in great condition and everything like that."

Moline was twice given all-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honors during her time with the Mavericks, and four times qualified for the MSHSL state meet while at Duluth Marshall.
