Greyhounds Advance to State Meet in Nordic Skiing

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Duluth East boy's and girl's nordic ski teams have advanced to the MSHSL state meet after winning Section 7 on Thursday afternoon at Giant's Ridge.

Greyhounds senior Ryan Davis was the overall boy's champion, winning the freestyle race in a time of 13:49 and the classic race in a time of 14:55.

Fellow Duluth East senior Annie Harvieux was the overall girl's champion, finishing the freestyle race in 15:53 and the classic race in 17:18.

The Greyhounds boy's and girl's teams were also crowned Section 7 team champions, finishing with 389 and 392 points respectively.

The Duluth East boys were followed in the team results by Ely (375), Mesabi East-Virginia-Eveleth-Gilbert (335), Duluth Marshall (333), Duluth Denfeld (278), Proctor-Hermantown (274), Cook County (251), and Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (238).

On the girls side, the Greyhounds were followed by Ely (382), Grand Rapids (358), Mesabi East-Virginia-Eveleth-Gilbert (319), Two Harbors (305), Duluth Marshall (269), Proctor-Hermantown (265), Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (255), Duluth Denfeld (219), and Cook County (131).
