Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth East senior defenseman Phil Beaulieu was announced on Wednesday as one of 10 finalists for the 2014 Minnesota Mr. Hockey award, which is given each season to the top senior player in Minnesota high school boys' hockey.

Beaulieu is now anchoring the Greyhounds' top defensive pairing this season along with Alex Trapp, but he actually began the season as a forward on the team's top line.

The senior, now moved back to defense, has also produced offensively for Duluth East, ranking second on the team so far this year with 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points.

Beaulieu also made a verbal commitment earlier this season to play Division I college hockey at Nebraska-Omaha.

The 2014 Minnesota Mr. Hockey award will be presented on March 9, which is the Sunday following the 2014 boys' state hockey tournament.
