Greyhounds' Toninato Will Become a Bulldog

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Duluth East senior forward Dom Toninato has given a verbal commitment to play his college hockey at UMD, it was announced Tuesday morning.

The 17-year-old center is the second-leading scorer for the #1-ranked Greyhounds, having scored 19 goals and tallied 28 assists through 18 games this season.

Toninato is expected to play at least one year in the United States Junior Hockey League before joining the Bulldogs in either the 2013-14 or 2014-15 season.

His father, Jim Toninato, played for UMD from 1982-86, racking up 54 points in 155 games as a Bulldog.

Toninato's linemate, Jake Randolph, commited to play his college hockey with UMD's conference rival Nebraska-Omaha on Monday.
