Grizzles Swept in Class A Quarters by #2 Minneota

St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The North Woods volleyball team was beaten in straight sets in the MSHSL Class A quarterfinals on Thursday, falling 3-0 to #2-seed Minneota at the Xcel Energy Center.

The Grizzlies were led by the seven kills of Darby Youngstrom and Tessa Mankus in the losing effort, and the team also got 10 assists from Destinie Villebrun.

Minneota, meanwhile, was paced by the match-high 18 kills of Taylor Reiss, who also came up with eight digs in the quarterfinal victory.

North Woods was making its first-ever state tournament appearance and will now move to the Class A consolation bracket, with the team's next game set for 3:00 p.m. November 9 at the Xcel Energy Center.
