VIDEO: Friday Night High School Football

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) ---Minnesota high school football kicked off on Friday night which featured a first ever match-up between Esko and Cloquet while Wisconsin was in week two.

For the first time in program history, Esko and Cloquet did battle with the Lumberjacks squeaking by the Eskomos thanks to a last second touchdown score by Maxx Brenner, 19-18 on Friday night.

In Proctor, the Rails hosted Pine City. Proctor led at half 7-6 before opening up the scoring in the second half. Senior Joe Carter scored in the third quarter to put the Rails up 14-6 and then added a 65-yard kickoff return in fourth to put them ahead for good, 28-12.

Duluth Marshall and Cook County opened up their 2013 campaign on Friday afternoon. Marshall ran away with the game, 41-16.

Superior traveled to Ashland for week two of Wisconsin high school football. As the Spartans did in week one, they cruised to a win, 52-12 over the Oredockers.

Northwestern played host to Grantsburg in an offensive shootout. The Tigers snuck by the Pirates 45-34.
