Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Kasson-Mantorville scored three runs in the third inning on Thursday evening en route to a 6-1 win over Hermantown at the MSHSL Class AA softball tournament, ending the Hawks' hopes at that program's fourth state championship.

Mackenzie Herzig and Jillayne Gilbert each had two hits in the loss for Hermantown, with Katie Thun going all seven innings in the pitcher's circle to take the loss.

Hermantown is now (22-4) this season and will play for third place, with that game against Rockford set for 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Caswell Park in Mankato, Minn.
