Hawks No. 2, 'Hounds Get Fourth Seed in State Brackets

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Hermantown boys' hockey team earned the No. 2 seed for next week's Class A state hockey tournament while Duluth East will be seeded fourth in Class AA action; it was announced on Saturday.

The Hawks will face unseeded Luverne on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Xcel Energy Center. Hermantown has finished as the state runner-up the past four years.

In AA, the Greyounds will battle fifth-seeded Eagan on Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center.

2014 State Class A Hockey Tournament:

QUARTERFINALS --- March 5
Luverne vs. (2) Hermantown --- 11am
Chisago Lakes vs. (3) New Prague --- 1pm
Orono vs. (1) East Grand Forks --- 6pm
(5) Totino-Grace vs. (4) St. Cloud Cathedral --- 8pm
SEMIFINALS --- March 7
CHAMPIONSHIP --- March 8

2014 State Class AA Hockey Tournament:

QUARTERFINALS --- March 6
Roseau vs. (2) Lakeville North --- 11am
Centennial vs. (3) Eden Prairie --- 1pm
Stillwater Area vs. (1) Edina --- 6pm
(5) Eagan vs. (4) Duluth East --- 8pm
SEMIFINALS --- March 7
CHAMPIONSHIP --- March 8
